LeafStar's Secret (Volume No. 1) Icy!

I yawned, stretching my legs. "Hey, Icy? Kelly?" I squeaked, nudging them til' they woke up. "What?" Kelly yawned, barely opening her eyes. She looked more tired than Icy on Friday nights. Icy jumped up immediately. "Hey, hey, hey! Where are we going today?" Icy asked, jumping up and down. She was always this giddy, even after she was born! "...'Kay..." Kelly moaned, closing her eyes again. "Guess she doesn't wanna come with us, Blake! Let's go! What are we playing today?" Icy purred, heading towards the door. I followed close behind. "Hide n' seek!" I mewed, licking her cheek. "Alright." Icy squealed, racing out the door. I followed her. "You count!" Icy mewled, hopping around me until I finally gave in. "Okay, okay." I purred, closing my eyes. "Go n' hide." I then heard her dash away, into bushes and undergrowth. "1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10..Ready or not, here I come!" I opened my eyes, and started towards the road. I heard a piercing shriek fill the air. "BLAKE, HELP!" "Oh Icy, don't play that game." I laughed, looking around. "IT'S NOT A GAME!" I looked towards the road, to see small white shape on the other side of the path. I blinked. "Icy, get off the road!" I called, padding towards her. "I CAN'T, MY PAW IS STUCK!" Icy wailed, trying to break free from a crack in the road. I heard a distant beep. A car! A car was coming! I tugged at Icy's collar, but her paw wouldn't budge. "Blake...I'm gonna die!" Icy cried. "No, you're not!" I mewed calmly. But even I couldn't be calm. The car was getting closer! All I could do was hope. "Blake, j-just let me die, I can't get free! You're putting yourself in danger too! Leave me be, I want you to--I want you to--I WANT YOU TO LIVE!" Icy whispered. "I can't leave without you Icy! I won't leave you, we'll die together." I replied, my eyes boring into hers. Suddenly, I heard a snap. Icy was free! I closed my eyes, the beep of the car passing made me almost oblivious to the crushing sound that went with it. I opened my eyes again to see nothing but a road and my den across from me...Where was Icy? I looked around. Then I saw it; a bloody white shape was laying, crushed, on the road to my right. "ICY, NO!" I wailed, dragging her to the side of the road. "...This can be my secret...Right? I'll just bury her here, nobody has to know! Not even Kelly!" I trembled, still not believing what had just happened right before my eyes. I was a horrible cat. I couldn't save anyone, not even a helpless kitten...Like Icy.
